Working With Parents
Working in partnership with parents is paramount to children's learning and development, Toad Hall prides itself on the collaborative approach between parents and our setting, so that we can enhance each child's learning and development.
We recognise the important role you are playing in the development of your child and appreciate that continued involvement is crucial to your child’s success.
Booking a place for your child at nursery comes with mixed emotions. (we’ve been there, so we know exactly how you feel.) If you have any concerns, please talk them through with us before you make your mind up as we want you to feel completely comfortable.
We have developed a setting where you are welcomed. You are invited into the setting at regular intervals such as open evenings, workshop days and social events. In addition, we welcome parents to come and volunteer during their child’s sessions so that you can see just how well your child is being looked after and how much fun they have.
Parents are kept fully informed of their child’s progress. Each child has their own on-line ‘Learning Journey’ and you can contribute at any time.
Furthermore, you are kept up to date with all the nursery’s news in our monthly newsletter, which details recent events and forthcoming activities. You can also see what we have been up to on our facebook page.
Our staff are always on hand to discuss any matters with you concerning your child. We have an open-door policy at Toad Hall and you are welcome anytime.
- Parent Group
The Parent Group is open to all parents of the setting and meets once a term. We discuss current topics, developments, the curriculum, activities, visits and outings plus social events for parents are arranged.
This is a great way of meeting other parents and sharing parenting ideas together. Many a firm friendship has been formed from the Parent Group meetings.
Please speak to Toni or Rachael in the office for details.
